Sunglasses without lenses

I was pretty amused when I learnt about these sunglasses that have no lenses. Well, I don’t remember any such style that was prevalent in the 80’s. My poor memory and small age (that I was of in the 80’s) can be blamed for that. They say, that this fashion was at its peak in the eighties and I don’t have much problem agreeing with the statement.

Why we are talking about them now? It is because Kanye West, the hip hop star, whose new single ‘Stronger’ is soon to be out, is wearing these in the video. Reportedly, he approached glasses maker Alain Mikli for such a design. He was also wearing the glasses for his performance at the concert for Diana.

As per my own opinion, I didn’t like them very much. Once in a while they can look cool, but they won’t be having a general fashion application. But I certainly hope that the collaboration will bring us something more happening.

They say ‘eyes speak’ and in the fashion world, the quote goes, ‘your sunglasses speak’. So, I hope you have got an idea how important they are. But what am I really concerned about is that bizarre sunglasses are making big. Well, I can account the reasons to celebrities like R.Kelly, who have started all this, the designers, who create them and then fashionistas like you and me, who follow the trends blindly. I don’t particularly mind them for once but going for them as your regular feature is really a weird idea.

Thus, your fashion savior or whatever you wanna call me says, go for them but don’t make them your trademark. Choose color according to your skin tone or you may end up looking like a joker. Moreover, I have got something for you. Of course, sunglasses and that too, weird.

The collection is from Claw Money. The glasses are in really peppy, candy colors, have the style of 80’s and fun factor from the 90’s. These are chic and cool. When I first saw the Revlon Lash Jewel in a parlor, I was quite amazed. I wondered how the models have stuck those balls over their eyelashes and can it really work as a daily wear? I can’t say whether they are cool enough to impress everyone around or not, but I am pretty certain that wearing these may drag your eye lashes down. However, the ads look pretty fascinating and leave you with an urge to get these; I feel they can’t really do something.

Well, I m not against trying it once at all. We all have a right to create our own whims and fancies and live in a dream world sometimes. You can check it out when you are out for a party or a club, if you find it cool enough, go for them again if not discard it. I’ll need some time to tell you if this has the potential to impress me or not. Till then, keep it stylish!

I just got a new pair of sunglasses last week. Yeah! I am pretty excited about that. After all sunglasses stand for style and I am a style freak.
